Rachel decided she wanted to try scuba diving at the age of 8 years after watching an underwater documentary. Some years later in September 2000, it was finally ticked off the bucket list when Rachel completed her PADI Open Water Course whilst in the Maldives. The journey was not about to end there, and with a goal to aim for, Rachel managed to juggle a full time job around diving and in March 2005 successfully became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor!
As an Instructor, Rachel loves teaching all levels of courses, and enjoys seeing the satisfied faces of her students when they successfully complete their courses. Rachel continued to juggle diving around work until 2013, when she made the decision to leave the UK, head for warmer Mediterranean waters and settled in Malta for a life of diving.
Rachel is now successfully running the Diving Resource Centre at the University of Malta and assisting other dive centres on the island.
In March 2017 Rachel's long term goal was realised, and following the successful completion of the CDTC in Malaysian Borneo, Rachel became a PADI Course Director.
Now the journey really has begun!
